Pet Adoption from Cobb County Animal Shelter was a very rewarding experience for us.
We had previously adopted "Sammie Joe" (the bigger dog) from Paulding County Animal Shelter and while she was a playful
puppy, we realized that she needed some company while we were at work everyday.
Cindy Franklin, of the Cobb County Animal Shelter, called me one day and said that they had a little red dog that came
in as a stray and that she needed a good home. Cindy stated that she was a little snappy and they were concerned about
who would adopt her and she wanted me to come by and see her. Sure enough, the little red dog tried to bite me on our
first visit! However, after just being around her for a few minutes I could tell that she was just nervous and due to
her being a stray she was just trying to protect herself.
On January 6, 1997 we adopted the little red dog and named her Cholie. She has turned out to be the most loving and
loyal dog I could ever ask for. She wouldn't hurt a flea and never makes any attempts to snap at anybody.
We are so thankful that Cindy was on the ball trying to find a good home for just one of the many stray dogs that Cobb
County Animal Shelter gets. Cholie is so much fun but she just needed a good home and someone who would love her!
